The Department of Urology at Remedy Hospital provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment for a wide range of urological conditions. With modern techniques and a patient-centred approach, we offer both minimally invasive and open surgical procedures.
Key Urological Procedures & Services
TURP – Transurethral Resection of Prostate
A minimally invasive procedure for the management of urinary obstruction caused by an enlarged prostate.
TURBT – Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumour
An endoscopic procedure used for diagnosis and treatment of selected bladder tumours.
PCNL – Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy
A minimally invasive procedure for removal of large or complex kidney stones through a small access tract.
RIRS – Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery
A minimally invasive endoscopic technique for treating kidney stones using a flexible ureteroscope and laser technology.
URSL – Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy
An endoscopic procedure for treating ureteric stones, with fragmentation and removal of stones using appropriate energy sources.
Cystectomy
Surgical removal of the urinary bladder, performed for selected bladder conditions, including appropriately indicated bladder cancer cases.
Nephrectomy – Laparoscopic & Open
Surgical removal of part or all of a kidney, performed through minimally invasive laparoscopic or conventional open techniques depending on the clinical indication.
Suprapubic Catheterization
Placement of a catheter directly into the urinary bladder through the lower abdominal wall to provide urinary drainage when urethral catheterization is unsuitable or not possible.
DJ Stent Insertion
Placement of a Double-J (DJ) stent within the ureter to maintain urinary drainage between the kidney and bladder, commonly used in the management of urinary obstruction and after selected urological procedures.
